Delete some of your data — without deleting your account

You can delete particular things from inside the app and keep your account. These are all the ways, and what happens after each.

Inside the app, immediately

• A sale listing you posted: “Account” → “My listings” → “Withdraw listing”, then “Delete”. It disappears at once; a copy stays in the trash for 90 days, then it is deleted.
• Your question or comment on a listing: open the listing → “Questions” → “⋯” on your comment → “Delete”. Like a listing: 90 days in the trash, then deleted.
• Your neighbourhood: “Account” → “Edit profile” (or the pencil, “Edit”) → “Edit profile” → empty “Your neighbourhood — optional” → “Save”. Deleted at once.
• Your profile picture: on the same screen → “Remove”. Deleted at once, the stored file with it.
• Sharing your location with friends: “Account” → “Sharing my location” → “Stop sharing”. The shared location is deleted at once. (If the feature is shown to you.)
• Contacts: “Account” → “Settings” → under “Privacy and data”, switch off “Contact sync” → “Turn off”. Everything kept from your contacts is deleted at once. (On the phone only.) (If the feature is shown to you.)
• A friendship: “Account” → “My friends” → “⋯” → “Unfriend”. The friendship is deleted at once.
• A saved-search alert: “Discover” → “Alert me” → in “Alert me when posted”, the “Delete” icon. Deleted at once. (If the feature is shown to you.)
• An offer you saved, a shop you follow: tap “Saved” or “Following”. Deleted at once. (Following, if it is shown to you.)
• This device's notification token: “Account” → “Sign out”. This device's token is deleted.

Some of these buttons are not shown to people aged 13 to 17, whose accounts are for browsing only.

What stays, and for how long

• Deleted listings and comments: 90 days in the trash, then deleted.
• A road report: ending it hides it from the map; it does not delete it. Its record stays as the privacy policy §5 says.
• Backups: expire on their normal cycle within 35 days of deletion.
• Chats, reviews and assistant conversations: these go only with the whole account → Delete the account.
